The seven steps in the video
- Open TallyPrime. Open TallyPrime and the company you want, and keep it open till TExtract is done. It works best with only that company open.
- Open TExtract from its folder. It signs you in and checks your licence. If it offers an update, click Yes.
- Connection, period and folder. Leave the Tally address (localhost) and port (9000) as they are. Pick the period: Current FY, Previous FY or your own dates. ODBC mode is fastest; if it can't connect, switch to HTTP. Choose the output folder, then click Connect & Extract.
- Pick the reports. Tick the reports you want, or Select All. The GST Reco Pack is off by default; tick it when you need it. On the Ledger Sheets tab, tick ledgers that need their own sheet. Then click Extract.
- Wait for DONE. TExtract reads TallyPrime step by step, and a large company can take a few minutes. When it says "DONE! Saved", your workbook is in the folder you chose, with one sheet per report.
- Add-ons. For the Stock Register or the Edit Log Report, click its button at the top right of TExtract.
- If it can't connect. Check that TallyPrime is open with your company and that the one-time setup is done, with the same port in TExtract and TallyPrime. Still stuck? Try HTTP mode. If bill-wise or narration columns come out empty, check that NewTDL3.TDL is loaded and that TallyPrime was closed and reopened, then run TExtract again.
Tip: set the same period in TallyPrime with Alt+F2 before you extract. New here? Start with the one-time setup video.
